Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life if not the most important. Understandably, there is a lot of pressure to have the perfect wedding. It is no wonder that some of the most important aspects of the wedding get completely overlooked or dealt with at the last minute which is the perfect recipe for a wedding disaster.
Transportation of the wedding party is one such factor. How are the bridesmaids and groomsmen supposed to travel from the ceremony to the reception? How will your folks get home from the wedding? These fundamental questions are necessary for an efficient transportation plan to be in place on the day of the wedding. Tristar Africa Skimmer Safaris offers wedding car hire in Uganda and having handled over 500 customers, our team can help you make the right decision if you are searching for affordable, safe and comfortable transportation to and from your party.
Booking transportation
We recommend that you book your transportation up to 4 months before the day of the wedding. After ironing out the bigger details like the date of the wedding, the ceremony and reception sites, and the size of your wedding party, it is time for you to proceed with booking your transportation. The reason why we recommend you book your transportation up to 4 months before the wedding day is because if your wedding is slotted for anytime between April and July, you will have a hard time getting any transportation. Traditionally, those months are very busy with a pick wedding season and transportation services are in high demand. So to get the cars you really want, then you should book early enough.
Who will be in your wedding party
Prior to booking transportation, you will need to identify the people who will be in your wedding party as well as VIPs. The list normally includes: bride and groom, groomsmen and bridesmaids, both sets of parents, siblings and grandparents.
Transportation is usually not provided for the entire night. Usually, it covers movement from the ceremony to the reception. Depending on your budget, you can have some people such as out-of-towners make their own travel arrangements. If you have a bit of wiggle room in your budget, you can opt to hire a party bus in the event your guests are inebriated and cannot make the drive back home.
How many routes?
Most wedding parties have four routes: the route to the ceremony, the route to the photo shoot site, the route to the reception and the final route to the getaway.
The ride to the ceremony
The bride and the groom usually take the journey to the ceremony separately. Their respective attendants accompany each of them. You can opt to have your wedding party shuttled to the wedding separately. When you think about it, the shuttle makes a lot of sense. After all, a full-sized coach has anywhere between 52 to 59 passengers.
The reception route
The bride and groom might opt to travel with the honor attendants to the reception. This however presents a challenge. How does the wedding party you travelled with to the ceremony get to the reception? You will need to make adequate car-pooling arrangements to ensure everyone who needs to be at the reception is there.
Now that you are aware of all of the above, there are a couple of things you need to watch out for:
Overcrowding – Ensure that there’s enough room for everyone in the various vehicles that will be used to shuttle your wedding party.
Drivers without maps – Ensure all chauffeurs are provided with clear directions on where to go at ever route.
Vague or verbal contracts – All agreements should be in writing
